Hive Mind. The Boneleech is an extension of the Ossifex's consciousness. It follows the Ossifex's commands without hesitation and has no independent will of its own.
Latch On. The Boneleech leaps onto one creature within 5 feet of it. The target must succeed on a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw or the Boneleech attaches itself to the target.
While attached, the Boneleech deals 3 (1d4 + 1) acid damage to the target at the start of each of the Boneleech's turns. The Boneleech remains attached until it is removed or killed.
A creature can use its action to attempt to remove an attached Boneleech by succeeding on a DC 10 Strength check. If removing a Boneleech from another creature, the creature attempting the check must be within 5 feet of the target.
Description
Boneleeches are parasitic extensions of the Ossifex, sharing its hive mind and acting entirely under its control. These small, pale worms seek out living creatures, leaping onto them and secreting acid to dissolve their bones. Once their prey has been reduced to a boneless husk, they return to the Ossifex to deliver the liquefied bone proteins it needs to grow.
