Traits

False Appearance. While the Bloommaw remains motionless with its petals closed, it is indistinguishable from an enormous, exotic flowering plant.

Rooted Predator. The Bloommaw is anchored by a mass of thick roots. It can move slowly by dragging itself across the ground. It has advantage on ability checks and saving throws made to resist being pushed, pulled, or knocked prone.

Digestive Acids. A creature swallowed by the Bloommaw takes 14 (4d6) acid damage at the start of each of the Bloommaw's turns.

Actions

Multiattack. The Bloommaw makes two Tendril attacks.

Tendril. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage. If the target is Large or smaller, it is grappled (escape DC 16). Until the grapple ends, the target is restrained. The Bloommaw can grapple up to two creatures simultaneously.

Devour. The Bloommaw attempts to swallow one Medium or smaller creature that it is grappling and that is within 5 feet of its mouth. The target must succeed on a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be swallowed.

A swallowed creature is blinded and restrained, has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the Bloommaw, and takes 14 (4d6) acid damage at the start of each of the Bloommaw's turns.

The Bloommaw can have only one creature swallowed at a time.

If the Bloommaw takes 25 or more damage on a single turn from a creature inside it, the Bloommaw must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or regurgitate the swallowed creature, which falls prone in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the Bloommaw.

If the Bloommaw dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse using 10 feet of movement, exiting prone.
