Burst. Dexterity Saving Throw: DC 16, each creature within 10 feet of the bloated. Failure: 21 (6d6) necrotic damage. Success: half damage. This action kills the bloated, and this death cannot be prevented by any means. Corpses and creatures killed by this become infested.
Feign death. when hit by an attack that it survives, the Infested may choose to feign death and fall prone. If the killers passive perception is 19 or higher and the infested did not fall into cover they realize that the creature is feigning death. Description
Bloated oftentimes are visually similar to their predecessor the Infested, and at a glance appear to be normal albeit pale and haggard creatures of the original race, and this fact is often abused by mixing them among hordes of infested allowing them to reach their intended targets.
On closer inspection, however, one will note that their orifices have been clogged with mold that prevents gas from escaping, causing it to build up and grant the creature the ability to explode into a shower of mold and offal.
The conciousness of the original creature is still present at this stage, and they can feel themselves rotting away as the pressure builds inside.
