Traits

Bound Spirit. If the bogun is slain, its spirit leaves its construct body
as an invisible and incorporeal force. If the bogun’s creator casts the
beget bogun spell again, they can choose to create a bogun from the
same spirit again.

Actions

Nettles. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, Reach 5 ft., one target. Hit:
0 (1d4-2) plus 4 (1d6) poison damage.

Wild Companion. The bogun magically transforms into any plant with
a challenge rating less than or equal to the highest CR creature its
creator can transform into with their wild shape feature. Doing so
expends one use of their creator’s wild shape.

Description

In days long past, powerful circles of druids used to form soul
bonds with nature spirits for the benefit of both. Working
together with these spirits, druids would craft crude construct
bodies of both living and unliving plant and animal matter.
These construct bodies, known as boguns, allowed the nature
spirits to live in and interact with the material plane, almost
always in the company of the druid that helped create them.

From Spirits. The core of a bogun is a nature spirit bound in
the form of a construct. This construct can only be created by a
druid and a spirit working in concert to create a soul-bond.
This is done by a druid casting the beget bogun spell with a
willing nature spirit they have befriended. If the construct
body is ever destroyed, the spirit persists and can be granted a
new body by another casting of the beget bogun spell.

Bound Forever. Forging the bond required to create a bogun
is no fleeting commitment. The spirit bond required to create
a bogun lasts as long as the two souls persist, into the afterlife
and even beyond. As such, the bond must be consensual and
moments before the bond both parties gain a complete and
intimate knowledge of the others deepest self. Either side can
choose to end the bonding at that point if they do not like
what they see.

Fragile But Powerful. A bogun’s power flows directly from
the bond forged with its druidic creator. It can use its creator’s
wild shape feature to magically transform into a plant creature
with a challenge rating less than or equal to the highest
challenge rating creature its creator can wild shape into.

Construct Nature. A bogun does not require air, food, drink,
or sleep.
