Traits

Dark Devotion. The cultist has advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.

Leader's control. The beholder who the cultists have vowed their lives to can speak through the cultists in either it's own voice or the cultists and the beholder can also take full control of the cultist. The beholder can control 2d10 + wisdom modifier cultists at a time. After being taken control of the cultists must make a CONS saving throw DC 13 or they soot one random eye ray on themselves.

Actions

Scimitar. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) slashing damage.

Eye ray (recharge 6). The cultist shoots one eye of the beholder eye ray at random. It can only do this once every short or long rest or on a successful reharge. The DM may wish to weaken the attacks to suit the challenge.

Bite. Some, but not all, cultists have gained beholder-like mouths from their leaders that gives them wider mouths and teeth the same as the beholder.

Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 4 (1d6 + 1) piercing damage.

Description

Cultists that swear allegiance to beholders. Most conceal their loyalties to avoid being ostracized, imprisoned, or executed for their beliefs. These cultists often become cultists after being charmed and in that time they devote themselves to the beholder. From after that they are considered charmed to the beholder until death. These are generally the most trustworthy beings to a beholder so the beholder trusts them with some of his own powers but he still has the power to keep full control. They have one bigger eye rather than two which is were they can shoot an eye ray and most have larger mouths with sharp pointy teeth similar to the beholder itself.
