Traits

Death Throes. When the Eater of Worlds dies, it explodes, and each creature within 30 feet of it must make a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw, taking 70 (20d6) force damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The explosion crushes fragile unprotected objects like carts or barrels in that area that aren't being worn or carried.

Terrifying Aura. At the start of each of The Eater's turns, each creature within 5 feet of it takes 10 (3d6) psychic damage, and must make a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened until it is 120 feet or more away from The Eater. The target may make this saving throw again at the start of its turn. A creature that touches it or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 10 (3d6) fire damage.

Magic Resistance. The Eater has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Actions

Multiattack. The Eater Of Worlds makes four attacks: one with its bite and three with its spikes.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 30 ft., up to 3 targets within 10ft. of a point. Hit: 31 (2d20 + 10) bludgeoning damage plus 18 (4d8) piercing damage. If The Eater scores a critical hit, it deals 3 times the damage. The target(s) can make a dexterity save (DC 22) to avoid all damage.

Spikes. Ranged Weapon Attack: +17 to hit, range 120/400 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) piercing damage plus 10 (3d6) force damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 20 Strength saving throw or be pushed up to 15 feet away from The Eater.

Description

The Eater of Worlds, a force of cruel, mindless destruction came to this land in a haze of rage after being struck down by the elf god Corellon Larethian. In its anger it destroyed an elven city like nothing and left in its wake the World Eater Trench, a wasteland inscribed into the earth like a scar.
