Amorphous. The darkness can move through a spaces as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing while in pudding form.
Shapechanger. The darkness can use its action to polymorph into a demon-pudding hybrid or into a demon, or back into its true form, which is a black pudding.
Corrosive Form. A creature that touches the darkness or hits it with a melee attack while within 5 feet of it takes 4(1d8) acid damage. Any nonmagical weapon made of metal or wood that hits the darkness corrodes. After dealing damage, the weapon takes a permanent and cumulative –1 penalty to damage rolls. If its penalty drops to –5, the weapon is destroyed. Nonmagical ammunition made of metal or wood that hits the darkness is destroyed after dealing damage.
Magic Resistance. The darkness has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Spider Climb. While in pudding or hybrid form, the darkness can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Stench. Any creature that starts its turn within 10 feet of the darkness must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned until the start of its next turn. On a successful saving throw, the creature is immune to the darkness's stench for 24 hours.
Multiattack. In demon form, the darkness makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws. In pudding form it makes two psudopod attacks. In hybrid form it can attack like a demon or a pudding.
Bite (Demon or Hybrid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target Hit: 15 (2d10+4) piercing damage.
Claw (Demon or Hybrid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6+4) slashing damage.
Psudopod (Pudding or Hybrid Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6+4) bludgeoning plus 18 (4d8) acid damage. In addition, nonmagical armor worn by the target is partly dissolved and takes a permanent and cumulative –1 penalty to the AC it offers. The armor is destroyed if the penalty reduces its AC to 10.
Split. When a part of the darkness that is Medium or larger is subjected to lightning or slashing damage, it splits into two new darknesses if it has at least 10 hit points. Each new darkness has hit points equal to half the original darkness, rounded down. New darknesses are one size smaller than the original darkness and assume its natural pudding form.
Description
Juiblex, the demon lord of slime and ooze, has many slime, pudding, ooze, and jelly "servants," although none are intelligent enough to do anything other than follow their primitive instincts to consume and spread corruption -- except for one.
Darkness Given Hunger, a Huge Black Pudding, was possessed by a Hezrou demon at Juiblex's command. The Faceless Lord of Ooze then permanently fused the Hezrou demon with the Black Pudding, leaving the demon's mind trapped within the huge roiling mass of black pudding.
For centuries, the demon has dwelled within the ever hungering pudding, and the two have truly become one in the foul depths of the Abyssal Slime Pits. Since its creation, the fiendish ooze has learned to exert enough control over its amorphous mass to take an action and once again assume its fearsome demonic Hezrou form.
Now, Darkness Given Hunger is Juiblex's main servant, helping to patrol the Abyssal layer which they both dwell and feed upon.
