Magic Resistance. The zorbo has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Natural Armor. The zorbo magically absorbs the natural strength of its surroundings, adjusting its Armor Class based on the material it is standing or climbing on: AC 15 for wood or bone, AC 17 for earth or stone, or AC 19 for metal. If the zorbo isn’t in contact with any of these substances, its AC is 10.
Companionship. As you gain levels and increase your proficiency bonus, remember that your companion’s proficiency bonus improves as well, and is applied to the following areas: Skills, saving throws, attack bonus, and damage rolls.
Destructive Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d6 + 6) slashing damage.

Why is he cr 8?
This has to do with some wocky math that DnD does. We are using the revised ranger in our game so the creature needs a higher proficiency. We're just trying to trick the system.
