Description

The Desert Sandworm is an enormous, highly territorial burrowing creature;  while not a predator, full grown adults will pursue any creatures encountered its territory (including other adult sandworms) and ruthlessly attack. The sandworm's head is shaped to shift sand out of the way as it moves, but is not much use tunneling through rock.

Armored Attacker.  The sandworm's body is covered in a series of thick armored plates that protect it from friction and heat buildup as it constantly burrows through sand.  It's armor is nearly impenetrable to all but the strongest of physical attacks.

In combat, the worm will use its armored body and strong jaws to smash and rend its quarry.  Unlike other burrowing worms, it does not swallow its prey, preferring to leave creatures once they have fled its territory or have been neutralized.  Native desert scavengers often follow the worms movements in the hopes of feasting on any remains

Lone Wanderer.  Adult sandworms rarely stop moving, even to rest, and are intolerant of other adults in their territories, which can stretch for miles.  Juveniles and Larval stage worms are not typically bothered by adults, but can be targeted if they do not continue moving out of the worms domain
