Bound. The Pauldron guardian is magically bound to a broach(Requiring Attunment). As long as the guardian and its broach are within 100ft, the broach's wearer can verbally call the guardian to travel to it, and the guardian knows the distance and direction to the amulet.

For those that lack the funds to afford the shield guardian those who can't will often commission the much more frugal Pauldron Guardian. Described as "If the shield guardian attracted a wasting disease. " These lumbering constructs are quite common in the more well-to-do cities. They are not the lithest creatures ever but they make a good guard companion for a duke's son. They can not effectively wield weapons
