Traits

Undead Fortitude. If damage reduces the zombie to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit. On a success, the zombie drops to 1 hit point instead.

Actions

Multiattack. The zombie dragon makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (2d10 + 8) piercing damage plus 9 (2d8) cold damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d6 + 8) slashing damage.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d8 + 8) bludgeoning damage.

Necrotic Breath (Recharge 5–6). The dragon exhales an necrotic blast in a 90-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 22 Constitution saving throw, taking 54 (12d8) necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Description

Often the corpses of a great arial battle will fall to the earth, forgotten and left to rot away. Nowhere is this more apparent than when a group of adventurers slays a great drake from the deck of their airship. Whether the dragon was too ambitious with it's target or held a vendetta against the mortals aboard the ship, it is of no concern now that its mangled corpse lies in a crater of its own making.

Such a corpse is the perfect prize for a lucky necromancer or opportunistic Lich in need of a powerful undead servant. So it is that the practitioner of death will raise the once great beast as a zombie and enslave it for rest of its undead existence.
