Superposition. Marty may be physically present in any manifestation of his lair, or any multiple of them, at any time, simultaneously. This may result in seemingly-erratic behavior as he occasionally can be observed interacting with creatures who are present in a separate manifestation.
Defender of the Timeline. Between his Other Eye of Vecna and his Superposition trait, Marty has access to virtually any and all information that could be known. However, his commitment to preserving the natural order of time and space makes him both unwilling to deceive others, but selective about the information he shares with them.
Spellcasting. Marty knows all spells available to any creature. However, he may only cast one spell per day, which may be of any level. His spellcasting ability is WIS.
Special Equipment. Marty’s Menagerie; The Other Eye of Vecna
Counterspell. As a reaction, Marty may counter any spell, at will, once per day.
Description
Physical Appearance. Literally a puppet.
Infinite Sight. Marty cannot be lied to about any material fact, but he can be persuaded into an opinion with a sufficient roll.
Lair and Lair Actions
Lair: M.O.M. Trading Post. Exists in many locations at once, such as on the outskirts of a small town, in a vacant lot in an urban center, or anywhere else at the DM's discretion. The exterior appears to fill whatever space it occupies, but the interior is always the same: a disorganized shop containing whatever items the DM chooses
If Marty drops to 0 hit points, that manifestation of him, and his lair, turn to dust, as well as any unpaid items. He may not return to any municipality from which he has been banished or where he has been reduced to 0 hit points, for one year.
Behind Marty’s counter, from a few inches below the counter down, can be seen nothing but a black void. Anything that falls into the void belongs to Marty and cannot leave his shop without his consent.
If an item is removed from Marty’s shop without his permission, it dematerializes and reappears in it’s previous place on the shelf.
Marty cannot exist outside of his lair, but he can create a mobile version of it, including one that exposes him to the elements, but maintains his counter and corresponding void, such as a peddler's cart or roadside stand.
Lair Actions
On initiative count 1 (losing initiative ties), Marty takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; Marty can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:
- 86'd. At any time, Marty can verbally command any number of creatures within his lair to leave. Each creature must succeed on a DC 20 STR saving throw, or be immediately propelled out the front door. Any creature which has been 86'd from Marty's lair may not reenter without a written invitation form Marty.
-
Summon Clone. Range: 20 ft. Marty’s Menagerie is a display case full of minitaure models behind his counter, each a tiny likeness of a creature whose blood he has collected at least a drop of. As an action, he can break one, or throw one to the floor, and speak its name, transforming it into a full-sized, living version of that creature. If that creature is currently alive somewhere else in the universe, the newly created creature carries the INT, WIS, and CHA of a golem with the STR, DEX, CON, AC and HP , and all other abilities of the original, with the resulting clone destabilizing and dissolving 24 hours after being summoned. If the original is no longer among the living, the creature is reincarnated in full, in the same physical and mental state as 24 hours before their death.
