Description

These beasts are large grey ravens with red eyes and black beaks.  They rarely caw and instead use their messenger cantrip to alert their flock as to potential threats or prey who they quietly ambush.  They are often encountered in small groups of ten or so. if too many gather together the psychic interference becomes too great and they revert to a more animal like behavior and they begin killing each other.  The mountainsides and forests that they often call home will have an unsettling silence as not only are the crows silent but they hunt and kill almost anything in the surrounding areas.  These magical creatures have a high intelligence and can even understand common  and usually one other local language. They also have psychic abilities which make a flock of them very dangerous.   Their common tactic is to ambush the unsuspecting stunning then killing  and consuming animals or humanoids alike. They are highly sought after as minions to evil wizards with whom they often enjoy to consort with.  Many speculate that ash ravens were brought about from sorcery.  Others speculate they are Ravens who scavenged the remains of a powerful psychic entity.
