Description
The Menzoberranyr's spider venom potency makes it much more dangerous than the spider described in the Monster Manual. Symptoms include dizziness, drowsiness, headache, difficulty breathing, and paralysis.
The tarantula-like Maztican spider also uses the stats the Menzoberranyr's spider.

Posted Sep 27, 2021Author's note: This creature was purposefully designed to be more lethal and challenging for player characters than their Challenge Rating would suggest. With a debilitating effect that can last for hours, they aren’t tuned balance-wise for the Wild Shape feature or spells such as polymorph. A DM should consider excluding this creature as options for shapechanging abilities or allow a relevant saving throw to be repeated at the end of each turn to end the poisonous effects when used in combination with Wild Shape or polymorph.
