False Appearance. While the sapling remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a blood rose.
Consume Life. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d10 + 3) piercing damage, and the target is Bleeding (1d6, cure DC 13). A long viney tendril pierces its target and begins to suck the blood out of its victim. At the start of each victim's turns, it takes 1d6 necrotic damage. If the blood sapling is still attached, it heals for the amount of necrotic damage dealt.
Self-Sacrifice. When the blood sapling drops below 10 hit points, it can self-destruct in a bloody explosion. The blood sapling is destroyed, and creatures within 10 feet of it must make a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or contract Scourge Plague.
