Spider Climb. This beauty can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Sunlight Sensitivity. While in sunlight, BabaDrideria has disadvantage on attack rolls as well as on WIS and Perception checks that rely on sight.
Web Walker. BabaDrideria ignores movement restrictions caused by webbing.
Web Sense. While in contact with a web, she knows the exact location of any other creature in contact with the same web.
Multiattack. BabaDrideria makes three attacks, either with its psychic screech, bite or web.
Vicious Spider Bite: Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft. one target. Hit: (1d6+3) piercing damage and the target must make a DC 14 CON saving throw, taking (2d8) poison damage on a failed sve, or half as much on a successful one. For each remaining turn, a failed DC 14 CON saving throw will result in 2 points of poison damage.
Web (Recharge 4). Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, range 30/60 ft., one creature. Hit: The target is restrained by webbing. As an action, the restrained target can make a DC 12 Strength check, bursting the webbing on a success. The webbing can also be attacked and destroyed (AC 10; hp 5; vulnerability to fire and slashing damage; immunity to bludgeoning, poison and psychic damage).
Mother's Screech (1/Day). Psychic Attack. When BabaDrideria is surprised or threatened, she releases a horrifying screech, provided that she isn't in sunlight. The screech has no effect on constructs or undead. All other creatures within a 50 ft radius of her, that can hear her, must make a DC 14 CON saving throw. On a failed throw, creatures take (3d8) of psychic damage and is knocked prone, on a successful throw, a creature takes (1d8) psychic damage and keeps their current position.
Description
Baba is a demonically cursed, mutating Drider. When she was a Drider, she was unable to have children of her own so she would borrow other creatures' offspring to practice her motherly tendencies on and then would usually return them unscathed. Once, she stole an elf's baby and didn't return the baby for several days. That elf was an evil sorceress who found Baba and cursed her to become more like her spider ancestry. Thus, she grew spider mandibles and lost most of her human personality and intelligence.
Baba still has the desire to be a mother but cannot have her own offspring. She still steals other creature's children but now she does not return them. She instead saves them in a silk cocoon for a snack.
Because of her appearance, it is difficult for her to get the children herself. She often usually has lower level evil creatures steal the children for her.
BabaDrideria is similar to a Drider but cannot use weapons or cast spells. She has the torso of a human woman and the body of a giant spider with the mandibles of a spider on her otherwise female human head.
Lair and Lair Actions
BabaDrideria will make a home within a few miles of thriving towns or cities. Because she doesn't function well in sunlight, she finds abandoned dungeon, caves, etc. to dwell in. She prefers large cavernous areas to hang her treats, high away from anyone who would steal them.
