Description
Commonly referred to as an assassin crab, this hard shelled ambush predator is more closely related to its arachnid relatives. Its hardened dark brown and green exterior is the perfect camouflage for it to lay in wait in murky waters for the ankle of an unsuspecting passerby to get in range of its razor sharp claws. Individually, the assassin crab poses little more than a minor inconvenience, however as they often live in small groups they can become deadly if they are allowed to strike first or surround.
