Luring Gaze. When a creature starts its turn within 30 feet of the bone hulk and is able to see the bone hulk’s eyes, the bone hulk can magically force it to make a DC 15 Charisma saving throw, unless the bone hulk is incapacitated.
On a failed saving throw, the creature can’t take reactions until the start of its next turn and rolls a d8 to determine what it does during that turn. On a 1 to 4, the creature does nothing. On a 5 to 8 the creature must use half its movement to move towards the bone hulk
Unless surprised, a creature can avert its eyes to avoid the saving throw at the start of its turn. If the creature does so, it can’t see the bone hulk until the start of its next turn, when it can avert its eyes again. If the creature looks at the umber hulk in the meantime, it must immediately make the save.
Camouflage. If the bone hulk does not move for 1 minute, creatures that attempt to detect it take a -10 penalty to their Perception check
Multiattack. The bone hulk makes two slam attacks
Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 9 (1d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage. Slam auto-crits if the target is grappled
Spikes (Recharge 5-6). Any creature within 5 ft of the bone hulk must make a DC 12 DEX saving throw or take 17 (2d12+5) piercing damage and be grappled by the bone hulk. On a success, a creature takes half the damage and is pushed 5 ft away from the bone hulk
Description
Bone Hulks are freaks of nature and incredibly rare. Borne of man in a place deeply plagued by undead, Bone hulks stand up to 20 ft tall and look like fleshless humanoids, with bones and muscles intertwined. They can also control the configuration of most of their bones, allowing them to contort themselves to blend in with the environment. While in this state, they are very difficult to spot but vulnerable to attacks.
Their ability to camouflage makes them formidable predators, but it is their sense of sight that make them such dangerous stalkers. Bone Hulks can sense differences in heat. The only way to hide from them is to reduce your body heat to match that to the undead or stay close to a source of heat.
Aside from this, very little is known about these monsters because of their rarity. The few monster hunters that have faced these creatures have used their skills to avoid conflict, and those that did not never lived to tell the tale.
