Special Equipment. Bonk wears a headband of intellect. This does very little against his boundless stupidity. His normal intelligence is 9.
Spellcasting. Bonk is a 5th-level spellcaster. His spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 13, +5 to hit with spell attacks). Bonk doesn't know that warlocks are supposed to have fewer spell slots than other spellcasters. He has the following warlock spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): Friends, Prestidigitation, Thunderclap
1st level (3 slots): Hellish Rebuke, Expeditious Retreat, Witch Bolt
2nd level (3 slots): Spider Climb, Mirror Image
3rd level (1 slot): Summon Lesser Demons, Thunder Step
Stick. Melee Weapon Attack: +1 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d6 - 1) bludgeoning damage.
I'm warning you! Bonk pulls out an "iron flask", and threatens to release the balor trapped inside. Each creature within 30 feet must succeed on a DC 15 wisdom saving throw, or be frightened of Bonk for one minute. A frightened creature can repeat this saving throw at the end of each turn. On a success, the creature notices the faded "Monty's Jugs and Flasks Emporium" logo, and becomes immune to this ability.
Redirect Attack. When a creature that Bonk can see targets him with an attack, he chooses a non-hostile creature within 5 feet of himself. Bonk and the creature swap places, and the chosen creature becomes the target instead.
Description
Bonk is a famous warlock, who has traveled across many different planes, and made countless enemies along the way. In technical terms, he isn't even a warlock. He accidentally learned how to wield warlock magic as a sorcerer would, gaining extra spell slots, a feat that bewilders even the mightiest of mages. Unlike other warlocks, he doesn't owe his soul to any one extra-planar entity. Rather, he owes his soul to so many different beings that a miniature second blood war has begun between fiends, fey, and other entities fighting for the right to Bonk's soul. Whenever he dies, his soul gets tugged and pulled towards so many different planes, that it ends up being shunted back into the material plane, thereby granting Bonk an unusual form of immortality.
Bonk is 3 feet tall, with wild hair and wilder eyes. He has unique markings and brandings over every part of his body, from each entity that lays claim to his soul. He ties strips of metal to his Headband of Intellect to give it the appearance of a crown.
- Ideal: "I want a big comfy chair, a big shiny crown, and a big juicy steak. And I will start wars for them."
- Bonds: "After all I have been through, who can deny that some higher power has a plan for me? I should have my own cult!"
- Flaws: "Nothing can stop me! I can do whatever I want! Consequences are for simpletons and imbeciles, which I am not!"
Bonk Facts:
- When Bonk first got his powers, he became his tribe's "booyagh". His reign lasted for 36 hours, ending after he ordered his followers to slay an erupting volcano.
- A kind archmage once let Bonk live in his tower for three years, to keep him safe and study him. With an entire library of lore and knowledge at his disposal, Bonk took the time to learn the grung language.
- Bonk has never met a grung. He doesn't even know what they look like.
- Bonk is wanted for murder, thievery, conspiracy, loitering, and illegal walnut trafficking.
- Nilbogs vehemently refuse to possess Bonk. This frustrates him.
- A barghest once tried to consume Bonk's soul. It received threats from 7 demons, 11 devils, 4 separate hag covens, a star spawn seer, and an eldritch horror with 10,000 mouths. Barghests now avoid Bonk.
- A stray dog once bit Bonk. Bonk bit the dog back. A dog catcher intervened and successfully brought the goblin to a kennel.
- Bonk's Headband of Intellect has made him considerably smarter. He no longer eats living bees. He still eats ants.
