Description

Quote from Myron Henglesworth's Guide to Roedorian Society:

A kooee (kwee) is a giant rodent bred as a pack animal by roedorians and is practically the only animal which will tolerate their continuous close proximity, apparently due to their shared rodentia heritage.

In appearance the kooee is as large as a large pony or a small horse. They are covered in fur of varying lengths and colors, and appear very much like the common guinea pig in proportions. Merchants prefer the long haired breed, intricate braids ending in bright beads being an apparent preferred styling.

Kooee tend to be docile and will avoid conflict if possible.  I have heard several anecdotes from my roedorian guides about cantankerous kooee in the undercity which will take any opportunity to show their displeasure by biting the hands of people who get near their mouths, but such kooee are not used as pack animals in the overcity for fear of offending the big people.

It is not uncommon to see a roedorian merchant caravan of kooee loaded up in apparently precarious fashion with packages, crates, and sacks of goods hanging off at every angle rather than being piled high.  I have seen some crazy configurations and have been continuously surprised at their ability to pass through roedorian tunnels, they they almost always do.

In my several journeys into undercity tunnels I have seen kooee scale vertical cave walls with apparently little effort, yet another reason they seem to pack their goods around the body rather than straight up.

Roedorians tend to name their kooee single syllable names such as: chee, sooh, lek, and veer.

The most interesting anecdote I have heard about the roedorians begins with the kooee escaping his tether and wondering into a women's changing room. You see, the kooee ....
