Traits

Keen Sight and Smell. The owlbear has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight or smell.

Regeneration. The Black Owlbear regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn. If the cursed black stone is removed from the Owlbears body, this trait doesn't function at the start of the owlbear's next turn. The Owlbear dies only if it starts its turn with 0 hit points and doesn't regenerate.

Actions

Multiattack. The owlbear makes two attacks: one with its beak and one with its claws.

Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 10 (1d10 + 5) piercing damage.

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) slashing damage.

Description

A monstrous cross between giant owl and bear, an owlbear’s reputation for ferocity and aggression makes it one of the most feared predators of the wild.

The only difference between this Black Owlbear and a regular Owlbear is a small black crystal seemingly implanted in its chest. This cursed object allows the creature to regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn. If the cursed stone is removed from the body of the Black Owlbear, it looses all magical properties.
