Actions

Longsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d8) slashing damage, or 5 (1d10) slashing damage if wielded with both hands.

Description

Aristocrats are the massively influential landholders, merchants, and government officials with enough wealth and power to have a stake in politics. Usually having a seat somewhere in power, the most charismatic and opportunistic of them can even find the ear of a king or queen and enact policy that brings benefit to themselves or ruin to their enemies.

VARIANT: CORRUPT ARISTOCRATS

While every aristocrat has an agenda, most will respect a ruler that respects them in turn and follow an honour code that stipulates being loyal to their lord. Some aristocrats, however, have no such qualms and will engage in active exploitation of the royal court. The aristocrat gains the following trait:

Corrupt Behavior. Roll a d6 or choose an option below:

1-2. Embezzling. The aristocrat gains proficiency with the forgery kit and has advantage on Intelligence checks made to forge transaction records.

3-4. Collusion. The aristocrat gains proficiency in the Deception skill. In addition, it gains the ability to cast the spell illusory script once per day.

5-6. Extortion. The aristocrat gains proficiency in the Intimidation and Perception skills and has advantage on Charisma checks made to learn gossip.
