Description
Werebeetles are bestial, predatory creatures native to the Underdark.
Curse of Demogorgon. When the Demon Prince Demogorgon found his way to the Material Plane he, in addition to creating the first chimeras, also found a race of beetle-like people known as the Beteethal. He transformed them into the first werebeetles, sapping away their intelligence and control over their form to create a new strain of lycanthropy.
Migration to the Underdark. The cursed Beteethal slowly crawled their way into the damp, dark caverns of the Underdark, where they began to transform whole drow houses into more of themselves. Pleased by this success, Demogorgon began to mutate the oldest of the werebeetles so that they could turn devils. The six-fingered prince is still building them into an army to decimate the Nine Hells.
