Traits

Lure. An Angler Tree has a lure it can move up to 20 ft around its self as a bonus action. This lure appears to be a tiny fluffy animal such as a rabbit, Perception check dc 18 to distinguish the lure.

A Tree. While motionless the Angler Tree is indistinguishable from a normal tree Perception check dc 18. The Angler Tree can use its Lure, and Incite Hunger abilities without revealing itself.

Actions

Incite Hunger (recharge 5-6). All creatures within 60 ft of the Angler Tree's Lure must make a wisdom saving throw dc 15. On a failure the target must use all of their movement on their turn to move closer to the lure, on a success there is no effect. 

Multiattack. The Angler Tree can make two attacks; either two Grab attacks, two  Consume attacks, or one of each.

Grab. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 10 ft., 1 target. Hit: 10 (1d8 + 5) bludgeoning damage. And the target must make a strength saving throw dc 15,  or become grappled. A creature grappled in this fashion can use an action on their turn to attempt to escape.

Consume. Melee  Attack:  Target must be grappled by a Grab attack. The target makes a strength saving throw dc 15, or be pulled further into the roots of the tree. The target takes 11 (2d10) damage on a failure or half damage on a success.

Reactions

Feeding Lure. When a creature comes within 5 ft of the Angler Tree's Lure, the Angler Tree can make a Grab attack as a reaction.

Description

A species of tree that developed in areas of poor and weak soil. The tree attracts predators to its fluffy lure which it moves around with its roots. The roots of the Angler Tree then grab and pull into the soil the creature that went after its lure.
