Mental Schism. The quori's mind is partitioned in two, allowing it to take two actions each turn. The second action can be used only to cast one of the quori's innate spells, make a single weapon attack, take the Search action, or take the Dash action.
Innate Spellcasting (Psionics). The quori's spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 17, +9 to hit with spell attacks). It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no components:
At will: vicious mockery (11th level), inflict wounds, detect thoughts, charm person
3/day: misty step, shield, dissonant whispers
1/day: dream, hold monster
Multiattack. The quori makes four Dazing Pincer attacks.
Dazing Pincer. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) piercing damage. If a creature is hit by two or more pincer attacks within a single turn, it must make a DC 17 Charisma saving throw or be incapacitated until the end of the quori's next turn.
Astral Construct (1/day). The quori summons an astral construct in a space within 30 ft. The construct appears as a ethereal duplicate of this quori and has the same stats, except it cannot cast spells, make an Astral Construct, or use Possession. The construct is also immune to the poisoned and unconscious conditions The quori can see through the construct's senses and command it at any distance. The construct lasts for 1 hour or until destroyed.
Possession (Recharge 6). One humanoid that the quori can see within 5 feet of it must succeed on a DC 17 Charisma saving throw or be possessed by the quori; the quori then disappears, and the target is incapacitated and loses control of its body. The quori now controls the body but doesn’t deprive the target of awareness. The quori can’t be targeted by any attack, spell, or other effect, and it retains its alignment, Intelligence, Wisdom, Charisma, and immunity to being charmed and frightened. It otherwise uses the possessed target’s statistics, but doesn’t gain access to the target’s knowledge, class features, or proficiencies.
The possession lasts until the body drops to 0 hit points, the quori ends it as a bonus action, or the quori is forced out by an effect like the dispel evil and good spell. When the possession ends, the quori reappears in an unoccupied space within 5 feet of the body. The target is immune to this quori’s Possession for 24 hours after succeeding on the saving throw or after the possession ends.
