Traits

Wild Aura. Any spell or cantrip cast within 60 feet of Vilkas requires a roll on the Wild Magic table.

Spellcasting. Vilkas is a 15th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 20, +10 to hit with spell attacks). Vilkas has following spells prepared:

At Will: Druidcraft, Produce Flame, Animal Friendship, Jump

3/day each: Polymorph, Locate Creature, Conjure Animals, Tree Stride

1/day each: Animal Shapes, Conjure Fey, Commune with Nature,

1/year: True Resurrection

Actions

Multiattack. Vilkas makes three attacks. One bite attack, two slam attacks. It can use its Swallow instead of its bite.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +15 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (3d8 + 10) piercing damage. If the target is a creature that is large or smaller, it is grappled (escape DC 20). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and Vilkas can't bite another target.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +15 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 29 (3d8 + 10) bludgeoning damage.

Swallow.  The Vilkas makes one bite attack against a Large or smaller creature it is grappling. If the attack hits, the target takes the bite's damage, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. While swallowed, the creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside Vilkas, and it takes 24 (8d6) acid damage at the start of each of Vilkas's turns.

If Vilkas takes 60 damage or more on a single turn from a creature inside it, Vilkas must succeed on a DC 20 Constitution saving throw at the end of that turn or regurgitate all swallowed creatures, which fall prone in a space within 10 feet of Vilkas. If Vilkas dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse by using 30 feet of movement, exiting prone.

Legendary Actions

As the king of the Unseelie Fey, Vilkas Lobos can take 3 legendary actions each round. Only one legendary action can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Vilkas regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Attack. Vilkas makes one Bite attack or Slam attack.

Move. Vilkas moves up to half his speed.

Chomp (Costs 2 Actions). Vilkas uses his Swallow.

Description

Vilkas Lobo is the King of the Unseelie courts within the Feywilds. As such he is tied to the chaotic and wild natural magics of the planes. While he is not technically evil, his goals and wishes are inscrutable to the mortals who are unlucky enough to cross his path. The only likelihood is that whatever his actions are, they are in an attempt to gain an advantage against the Seelie court.

Lair and Lair Actions

A deep glen shaded by the massive trees of the Feywild, suffused with the Wild Magic of the Unseelie.

Lair Actions

On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Vilkas takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; Vilkas can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:

  • A 60 foot radius circle around Vilkas becomes difficult terrain for any non-fey creatures as magical vines and roots erupt from the ground until initiative count 20 on the next round.
  • A 60 foot radius circle around Vilkas suffuses with maddening energy. Any creature within this area must make a dc 19 wisdom saving throw. If they fail they must roll on the short term madness table. The effects last until initiative count 20 on the next round

Regional Effects

The region containing Vilkas' glen is imbued with wild magics, which creates one or more of the following effects:

  • Creatures within 1 mile of the glen feel their emotions grow more wild. They become more erratic and respond more intensely to situations.
  • When spells of level 1 or higher are cast within 1 mile of the glen roll 1d20. If it is a 1, the caster must roll on the Wild Magic Table.

If the Vilkas dies, these effects grow even more wild and uncontrolled until those of the Seelie court takes over to fill the power vacuum.
