Traits

Darkvision. Aaravos can see in dim light within 60 feet of him as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. He can’t discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.

Sylvan Ancestry. Aaravos have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, and magic can’t put him to sleep.

Astral Lifespan. Being several thousand years of age, Aaravos has seen much and learned even more. This long life has given him a somewhat unique view of time. Aaravos has advantage on history checks

Trance. Aaravos can take a long rest you the period of 4 hours.

Ethereal Sight. Aaravos can see into the Ethereal Plane within 60 feet of him.

Greater Comprehension.  Aaravos can read any language.

Manipulator. Whenever Aaravos makes a Wisdom (Insight) check to determine whether a creature is lying, treat a roll of 7 or lower on the d20 as an 8. His thoughts can’t be read by telepathy or other means, unless he allows it. He can present false thoughts by succeeding on a Charisma (Deception) check contested by the mind reader’s Wisdom (Insight) check. No matter what he says, magic that would determine if Aaravos was telling the truth indicates he is being truthful if he so chooses, and he can’t be compelled to tell the truth by magic. Additionally, if Aaravos spends at least 1 minute observing or interacting with another creature outside combat, he can learn certain information about its capabilities compared to his own. He learns if the creature is his equal, superior, or inferior in regard to two of the following characteristics of his choice:

  • Intelligence score
  • Wisdom score
  • Charisma score
  • Class levels (if any)

He might also realize a piece of the creature’s history or one of its personality traits, if it has any.

Portent. When Aaravos finishes a long rest, roll three d20s and record the numbers rolled. He can replace any attack roll, saving throw, or ability check made by him or a creature that he can see with one of these foretelling rolls. He must choose to do so before the roll, and he can replace a roll in this way only once per turn. Each foretelling roll can be used only once. When Aaravos finishes a long rest, he loses any unused foretelling rolls.

Magic Resistance. Aaravos has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Convergent Future.  Aaravos can peer through possible futures and magically pull one of them into events around him, ensuring a particular outcome. When Aaravos or a creature he can see within 60 feet of him makes an attack roll, an ability check, or a saving throw, he can use your reaction to ignore the die roll and decide whether the number rolled is the minimum needed to succeed or one less than that number (his choice). When Aaravos uses this feature, he gains one level of exhaustion. Only by finishing a long rest can he remove a level of exhaustion gained in this way.

Astral Alignment (Mythic Trait; Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). When Aaravos drops to 0 hit points, he doesn’t die. Instead, he gains 60 hit points, and gains access to his mythic actions.

Spellcasting. Aaravos is an 20th-level spellcaster. His spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 23, +15 to hit with spell attacks). Aaravos can cast witch bolt, suggestion, counterspell, and fireball at will and has the following wizard spells prepared:
