Poison eating
This rat can eat any poison to store it in its venom glands and use it later to attack enemies. It can only have 1 kind of poison in its gland at a time. The rat can also eat the poisonous bark from the Poison-Arrow tree, this causes it to store a venom that is described in the rogue homebrew "Venom Extractor" subclass. This venom is hard to retrieve in other ways then through the rat.
Manes
The rat sets up its manes, revealing the venom glands on its back. The manes soak up the venom from the gland and anyone that comes in contact with the manes is inflicted with the venom that is in the venom gland.
Bite
The rat bites an opponent and if its manes are set up, they touch the opponent.
Melee weapon attack: + 3 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 3 (1d4 + 1) piercing damage.
Description
The African crested rat is not naturally venomous, but it can poison its manes by eating venoms and poisons. It lives mostly in woodlands, but also in dry grassland. It looks a bit like a porcupine, because its manes are very big and completely surround it if it sets them upright.
