Actions

Bite: The target must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or be bitten by the Bleeding Heart. When bitten, the target takes 36d12 (239) acid damage and is blinded, deafened, and incapacitated. Each second after the target has been bitten, it takes 20d12 (128) acid damage until death.

Description

A Bleeding Heart looks like a normal flower from the surface, with blue and white pedals. However, underneath the ground, it has a pair of jaws as well as stubby front legs, a stout, sausage-like body, and frog-like back legs. It uses it's back legs mainly to dig or jump from one place to another. Bleeding Hearts are usually found burrowed, waiting for it's next meal. When a creature dies from infection, it's body is flooded with spores, creating 1d20 more Bleeding Hearts in the area where the creature died. Their flowers will appear as buds, and will grow alongside the Bleeding Heart as it matures. However, any creature that is sized as tiny will be instantly dissolved in the Bleeding Heart's jaws, not creating any spores. A Bleeding Heart can live up to 500 years, however, they usually only live about 30 years due to their acid being highly valuable to assassins.
