Description

The tribes of savage Germanic barbarians are powerfully built warriors who live in the dangerous and wild forests of the north, sacrificing people to their chaos gods and eating human flesh. During the weakening and collapse of the Roman Empire, the goths managed to cross the river Danube in vast numbers while it was frozen over. These endless hordes of goths and vandals have since regularly journeyed south, intent on slaughter and pillage.

Goths love to fight, drink, and eat. Their greatest thrill however, comes when sacking Roman cities, slaughtering hundreds of thousands of civilians, smashing statues, burning down settlements, stealing all available loot, and ravishing the women, taking them back to their camps as slaves. Gothic barbarians will smash priceless works of art in hopes of clawing a few gems out, and will often simply burn tapestries and paintings for fun. Their language consists of primitive roars and chants, often spraying spit as they shout. When they find Roman magistrates and officials, they perform the "blood-eagle" tearing open the ribcage and ripping out the still-beating heart in front of them, and then eating it. The body is then offered to the Vandal's chaos gods, and then eaten.

Some Roman leaders have been known to hire goths as mercenaries, forced by total desperation and lack of Roman manpower, paying the goths colossal sums of gold to attack the Huns or rival tribes. However, goths will always betray Romans as soon as they possibly can. Above all, they want land to conquer and settle, and Roman women to brutalise and take as slave brides.

In combat, they will only attack when they outnumber their opponent, and they prefer ambushes in dark forests or swamps, slaughtering unsuspecting marching columns. Their horse riders often round up and pick off any survivors.
