Earth Glide. The python can burrow through nonmagical, unworked earth and stone. While doing so, the python doesn't disturb the material it moves through.

Actions

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 5 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage.

Constrict. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 6 (2d8 + 2) bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 14). Until this grapple ends, the creature is restrained, and the python can't constrict another target.

Description

Anthracite Pythons are shy, meek creatures made completely out of hard coal. They hatch out of rock-back eggs deep in the Plane of Earth (or, in rare cases, the Underdark), and eke out their living eating natural carbon deposits underground. They are often hunted by roving bands of salamanders and efreeti, not just as a fuel source, but as a preventative measure. Anthracite Pythons, if allowed to live for 100 years or more, are reformed by the pressure of time into Diamond Pythons.

Habitat: Underdark
