Ambitious Mage

Frantically Cunning. As a bonus action on the Ambitious Mage's turn they can take the dash, disengage or hide action. When the Ambitious Mage hits with a melee attack against a surprised creature it is an automatic critical hit and the target has disadvantage on saving throws against spells cast by the Ambitious Mage for 10 minutes. 

Aggressive Caster. When the Ambitious Mage takes the attack action they are able to cast the firebolt cantrip as an attack on their turn twice. They also have advantage on rolls to maintain concentration on spells and ignores the verbal and somatic components of spells.   

Spellcasting. The Ambitious Mage is a 10th-level spellcaster. Their spellcasting ability is Intelligence (spell save DC 15, +7 to hit with spell attacks). The Ambitious Mage has the following wizard spells prepared:

Cantrips (at will): fire bolt, light, mage hand, prestidigitation

1st level (5 slots): detect magic, mage armor*, magic missile, shield

2nd level (3 slots): misty step, mirror image*

3rd level (3 slots): counterspell, fireball, slow

4th level (3 slots): greater invisibility, dimension door

5th level (2 slot): geas, cone of cold

* the mage casts these spells before combat 

Multiattack. The Ambitious Mage makes two attacks with their sly dagger or the firebolt cantrip.

Glacid Dagger. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft, one target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) piercing damage plus 21 (6d6) acid damage. This dagger is destroyed after one use.

Sly Dagger. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft, one target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) poison damage.

Firebolt. Ranged spell attack +7, range 5/120 ft, one target. Hit 11 (2d10) fire damage.
