We've made a change to how the Ranger class feature "Favored Enemy" is implemented on D&D Beyond. This has been done to resolve an issue where the feature wasn't functioning correctly.
All of your Favored Enemies will now display correctly on your character sheet.
Additionally, the OCF (Optional Class Feature), presented in the Tasha's Cauldron of Everything sourcebook, "Favored Foe" was unable to function correctly, due to the way Favored Enemy had been implemented. This change also resolved that issue.
IMPACT ON YOUR RANGER CHARACTER(S)
1st-5th level.
You will need to reselect the additional language that is associated with your Favored Enemy.
6th+ level.
As well as reselecting the additional language associated with your 1st level pick of Favored Enemy, you will need to reselect the favored enemy and associated language granted at 6th level and 14th level (if relevant).

WHY HAS THIS HAPPENED?

Since the early days of D&D Beyond, the dev teams have worked hard to build tools that allow us to model all of the content in the Dungeons & Dragons game. There have been limitations to those tools however, especially earlier on in beta, when the core classes were built.
One of the more frequent issues reported to us over the lifetime of D&D Beyond is, "My Ranger character levelled up to 6th, selected their new Favored Enemy and now I can't see my 1st level pick on my character sheet."
When resolving issues, we have always stuck to a principle of being 100% non-destructive to characters, meaning that we won't implement a fix, if doing so would break someone's character in any way. We have always felt this was important - that our users need to be able to trust that their characters are safe with us.
With this Ranger issue, we spotted an opportunity to resolve the problem, using the more up-to-date tools, but with a small cost - having to reselect some of the options for that feature. We believe that this cost was worthwhile, to resolve the issue, as previously players of Ranger characters couldn't see the options that had been selected anyway.
WHAT ABOUT FIXING OTHER CLASSES/FEATURES?
Our intention and commitment remains that your characters are safe on D&D Beyond. This does not mean that we're going to be regularly making changes that invalidate your current character choices. However we felt the positives of this update far outweighed the negatives for this change. We hope we gave enough warning before the change that people were ready.
Depending on the feedback from the community on this issue resolution, we may take a look at other issues that could be resolved for a similar impact. Please let us know how you feel!

Looks awesome! Can’t wait for more!!
For me it was ok because I had to have an understanding with my DM anyway. I chose 'Humanoids" for my lvl6 and the humanoid subtypes I wanted weren't in the list. Since it's an Eberron game, the subtypes of humanoid I wanted was Changeling and Warforged. Maybe one day that list won't be so rigid but that's probably WotC's call or something.
That's great, thanks.
Thanks y'all! Appreciate the hard work!
Shouldn't there be an 'N/A' option for when your favored enemy is "beasts" which have no language?
Do tyou think you can fix the Racial feaat that allows Druid cantrips to show as well?
Thank you for fixing the favored enemy piece of the ranger sheet. It seems the Deft Explorer feature after 1st level is not working correctly. Roving and Tireless does not appear or function on the ranger character sheets.
Great! My only complaint would be that it's sometimes easy to miss the popups at the top of the screen, especially if you're in a hurry to play a game. So an email notifying of the change and how to fix it would be great next time, but otherwise everything was explained really well and I like the fix! Thanks!
I'm still getting errors with Favored Foe
scalevalue - No level scale data available.
Tasha’s needs to be included fully on this site. If some players or DMs don’t want the OCFs, they can ignore them if your company can’t find a ready way to make them load optionally (for instance, the way Feats load). Why can’t your company load OCFs with no options as a Yes/No load and then load multi-option OCFs with a menu that includes a load-nothing option. .
in contrast, the current approach of omitting the OCFs penalizes needlessly the many campaigns using most or all of the Optional Class Features.
Would sending an exported character sheet pdf to the registered email address of any user with a ranger, with the data correct before the patch, be a suitable compromise? So players have a record of their pre-patched character sheets, and know which option to repick.
This method could also be used to nullify the cost of any future breaking fixes for other classes.
Thanks for implementing this fix. Having to reselect some things is 100% worth having it! Would love to see some more of the fixes y'all have, even if it means reselecting things. ♥
Good Job guys!
Favored foe is still showing an error message for me "scalevalue - No Level scale data available"
How do you choose the options from Tashas cauldron for the ranger instead of the ones from PHB?
Thank you, this is a great change!
I'd like you all to know i'm all for this
thtank you, keep up the good work
Any chance this will be fixed for rogue's expertise as well? (Only latest selection showing under "features & traits")
Good job on the ranger!
