Posted Nov 6, 2025I am aware it's also an advert on behalf of dnd beyond, but I personally find it disturbing to see the players roll actual dice and then watch the digital dice on dnd beyond roll the same result. While I suppose it was added in postproduction, presumably rolling until it got the wanted result, it still gives the sense as if the rolls on dnd beyond can be altered or controlled to give a certain result instead of being actually random...

Posted Nov 6, 2025You can program dice to roll a specific number it is really easy to do (it is easier and takes less time than manually rolling until you get the same results)

Posted Nov 6, 2025Yeah but that just proves the point: one can modify the rolls, which defeats the point of a dice roller on dnd beyond...

Posted Nov 6, 2025If you mean 13:26, it might be that he actually tapped the dice roller on his screen. I don't see him rolling real dice

Posted Nov 6, 2025No, I mean 16:10 where Damien visibly grabs and rolls a die with his right hand; and onward.

Posted Nov 6, 2025Okay nevermind, later on I see what you mean. I think they just did that for clarity, but having a camera on the dice try may have been better, I agree

Posted Nov 6, 2025Guys, don't you think it would be easier for ACTORS to simply ignore the result on the dice and go with the DDB roll than for them to set up dice animations to match the physical rolls?

Posted Nov 6, 2025Knowing how slow and encumbering the dice roller on dnd beyond is, I doubt they would roll a physical die, predict the result, ignore the result and then click on the character sheet for the roll. It's more believable they just rolled the dice and added the modifier, and the animation were added in post production.

Posted Nov 7, 2025PLEASE have DM's and players refer to the Old Grey Box or the Forgotten Realms Wiki for the correct pronunciation of NAMES. Hearing the name Selune get butchered makes this impossible to watch and enjoy.

Posted Nov 7, 2025Um, D&D beyond environment is digital, it’s programmed. The programmers can write a script for D&D beyond YouTube Creators to simulate the rolls they need for post production.
why is that a problem?
as long as the dice rolls we have are as random as a computer can be, that is good enough for us. What they do in their offices for their production teams is completely irrelevant to us.

Posted Nov 7, 2025I guess if they can animate the movement of the dice when they are supposedly random, I guess they could animate it with the specific numbers.🤷🏼♂️
