2026 Roadmap: A Year of Adventure

Ravenloft: The Horrors Within

In Spring, the Mists roll in as we kick off the Season of Horror—which crescendos with our next upcoming product, Ravenloft: The Horrors Within. This book returns you to some of D&D’s most iconic and chilling nightmares, the Domains of Dread.
We can’t wait for you to get your hands on it and unleash dark legends at your table.
We'll be sharing more about this new book soon, but here are the key dates to mark now:
- Pre-order: April 13
- Master Tier: June 2
- Hero Tier: June 9
- Wide Release: June 16
Season of Magic: Arcana Unleashed & More

After the last scream of the Season of Horror echoes out into the void, we turn the page to the Season of Magic—a celebration of spellcraft, wonder, and ceaseless drive for power.
To kick off the magic, you’ll be able to add new tools to your table in August with D&D Reference Cards, built to keep key information close at hand when the action heats up.
Then, arriving as a source of inspiration for all lovers of magic and the arcane, Arcana Unleashed and the adventure book Arcana Unleashed: Deadfall will debut in September.
D&D Beyond: New Ways to Get Playing Faster

As shared recently in our Development Roadmap, D&D Beyond is leveling up with updates that reduce friction and help groups jump into the fun. From smoother onboarding for players to better ways to find events—and more improvements aimed at helping DMs prep with confidence—2026 will help you play your way online and at the table.
If you'd like to dive into more detail on D&D Beyond's feature releases and stay up-to-date with what's recently come out (like Shared Dice in the Maps VTT), keep an eye on our constantly evolving Roadmap Hub.
Partnered Content on D&D Beyond

In 2026, partnered content continues to bring fresh voices, bold settings, and table-ready delights to D&D Beyond, expanding your library with new ways to play, explore, and surprise your group.

Posted Mar 4, 2026I suspect “Gameplay Expansion” means a more broad rules expansion like Xanathar’s Guide to Everything or Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything: a book full of new subclasses, spells, feats, species, monsters, rules, and other assorted content for both players and DMs alike.
As for “Adventure Expansion”… I don’t know. Hopefully it’s a full campaign.

Posted Mar 4, 2026You might want to rethink the title of your posts. I was looking for the new Ravenloft Book announcement. All I could find was a "2026 Calendar Release".
I don't want no effing D&D calendar, especially as 2026 is 2 months in already.
Until I finally had another look at that post. *sigh* Can you please name it correctly in the future? "2026 Release Calendar"?
Thank you.
PS: I thought you want to sell books. Do not make it extra hard to find them. Really.

Posted Mar 4, 2026Why is there like zero info about the Ravenloft book, there is NOTHING.
And don't tell me you don't know yet... for a release in June you probably have the proofs and sent corrections to the printer so it's being shipped world-wide in time. How many pages is it, what's in it? "gameplay expansion" says NOTHING. This could be a book with 8 cardboard pages with pre-stamped minis.
I am not hyped up for the book with that few information. You really need to do better.

Posted Mar 4, 2026They literally just did the FR updates, man. There's such a thing as burnout and keeping people hooked for later by not using up too much of a sub-brand all at once.
Not only that, they know (and I figure, want to respect) that Ed Greenwood himself is putting out his own series of non-WotC products with other partners. I've literally spoken to him about his overall vibe with the company in the last couple years and it's not all bad, escpecially with his Lore channel doing so well. The new management appears savvy enough to know not to mess too much with the creators in light of their controversies.
Remember how they just now put out an older and superb Exploring Eberron release on Beyond WITH the rules updates and extra content, right after FotA released (with a different/complementary take on the setting, one I was very wary of but seems solid enough in hindsight)? It's excellent. The FotA does the mechanical heavy lifting (which WotC had the playtesting infrastructure for) while the endorsement of ExE (Frontiers soon, I'd bet) means they are happy to delegate lore updates to the most qualified partners, wisely so.
And how they tried mending the bridge with Dragonlance's creators? Could have been a lot worse.
I want full hardcovers and stuff in place of too much DLC or whatever, but let's let em cook a while longer. Takes a while to iron out the kinks given all the shakeups and the flourishing of high-quality competition (which... wouldn't have happened without the OGL fiasco, let's be real).
They uploaded Paizo's megadungeon with 5e rules, even! That's like when Nintendo and Sonic made nice, kinda, and it makes me happy to see.
(Speaking of Chult, have you dug into the Guild Adept and AL content on dmsguild yet? Because that was the AL golden age and most of the old-school fans I've encountered just absolutely dismiss, to their loss)

Posted Mar 4, 2026Well that "Ravenloft again" is bringing the stat block for Cthulu so I would figure you would be happy to see it. Plus all the missing arcane subclasses plus likely the addition of Psion and subclasses. Sounds pretty exciting to me.

Posted Mar 4, 2026Question: Whenever I bought the version to have both dndbeyond and hardcover of a book, I always receive the standard edition. I wonder if there's a way to make it into alternative cover editions next time I buy them. Some are way too interesting to look at to not want them. Thank you.
