Blooming Bestiary

Floral Friends. The floral dragons are varied as they are beautiful. Swap stories with the dreamy Cherry Blossom Dragon, take a ride on a gentle Water Lily Dragon, or bond with a loyal Rhododendron Dragon. When you become a dragon gardener you can tend to these magical creatures and gather a bouquet of friends.

Floral Foes. A keen gardener knows plants can harm as well as heal. Confront the Manchineel Dragon or “death apple” whose sap cuts an acidic trail of destruction through the landscape, or tangle with the Wisteria Dragon that strangles entire villages, inspired by the real plant’s ability to tear down buildings. Evade the Aconite Dragon, outwit the Vampire Lily Dragon, or help a city overgrown with Clematis Dragons. Resistance to Poison damage alone isn’t enough to keep you safe!

Underneath the Beauty Lurks a Rot. By piecing together the field notes of four intrepid researchers, you can uncover the tragic tale of the sorcerer Izora and her experiments that sent the Pleurossa Fungus on a rampage of revenge. Its corrupting web is spreading, ensnaring floral dragons as unwitting pawns until it grows strong enough to produce a terrible, ravenous Mushroom Dragon.

It’s Up to You. Can you untangle the mycelial network of fungal threads and restore the balance of nature before the floral dragons are wiped out? Artist Kin Wald drew inspiration from the beauty of flowers as well as their habitats and unique biology. As well as their vivid illustrations, each dragon has sketches of its fascinating behaviours and environments to give a full picture of what makes it special.

Inspired by Nature. Starting with Kin’s beautiful art and adding even more research into flowers’ cultural meanings and biology, we at Hit Point Press crafted the dragons’ lore and stat blocks, creating legends of their creation, detailed life cycles, and their relationships with humanoids.
