Hello adventurers! We’re back with updates on our newest release, Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft®, into D&D Adventurers League and Legends of Greyhawk.
Note that this time out, we’re being measured in our approach to the new character options. In general, we’ve limited availability to options that are either appearing as updates to 5e material that is making its 5.5e debut here, or options that are more broadly applicable to D&D characters no matter where they might reside in the multiverse.

Posted Nov 2, 2026Where are these feats coming from? I don't see them listed in the book's Marketplace page, nor in the associated Adventure.

Posted Nov 2, 2026No I know that, with regards to the book coming out, but normally they're listed in the Marketplace, where it says "XX+ spells, XX+ Monsters" and so on, but it doesn't mention the feats anywhere

Posted Nov 3, 2026Past articles hyping the release of Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft, such as the article about translating 5.5e classes into World of Warcraft classes, have made references to feats included in the book, including Clearcaster, Fingers of Frost, and Hot Streak.

Posted Nov 3, 2026I'm surprised Oath of the Holy made it in. I thought it was on the same page as Shadow Domain or Discipline Domain - too much of WoW than D&D.

Posted Nov 3, 2026Can the new druid templates be used, I wonder? It's not called out, but it's also a unique thing that it might not fall under these things.

Posted Nov 3, 2026Meh, I’m not really diggin’ this. Some of the recent tie-ins have been decent-ish, but if I wanted to play WoW I’d just go play WoW. This actually makes me want to play AL and LoG less with the prospect of all this extra schlock breaking containment.

Posted Nov 3, 2026I doubt it, given the Battle Master Maneuvers are mentioned explicitly, but not the Eldritch Invocations (Path of the Legion at least is very WoW-coded, but something like Expendable Minions and Master Demonologist and Curse of Corruption (sp?) aren't. Master Demonologist works extraordinarily well with Vestige Warlock (especially when upgrading it to a Fiendish Spirit) and Battle Familiar (if choosing to make it a Fiend), as you can trigger that Hex damage a lot more.
Likewise, there's no mention of the Ranger pet bonuses, considering there are creatures that aren't part of the Monster Manual but some that do. The changes are pretty shocking, especially the Ferocity Beast Specialization which is nasty.
Makes me wonder why they didn't add the Enveloping Mist and Stagger and Sway feats. Enveloping Mist could help with Ranger healing (as little as it may be) and S&S feels great for tanking - gives me 3.5 Crusader vibes. But Elusive Brawler is pretty awesome, provided you're not using your Reaction for anything else - it couples deceptively well with Cloak of Displacement, as if you get hit once, the Cloak effect ends but you can replace it with Reaction-based Dodge. This is arguably one of the nicest feats around, and it also works on Rangers since they want Dex and Wis relatively high (you could argue Druids and to an extent Clerics as well).
Safe to say I'm glad to see that Martial characters got some support - Monks (and to an extent Rangers) get those feats, Fingers of Frost works deceptively well with an Elements Monk (and depending on how they can Restrain, with Eldritch Knight Fighters), Battle Masters get new maneuvers... YMMV on Barbarians getting the shaft for being shoehorned as Shamans, though.

Posted Nov 3, 2026Since the spells from WoW aren't mentioned here, they are not allowed, I'd summize?

Posted Nov 3, 2026Yeah no. I wont allow this stuff on my AL tables.
Its not from fearun, not from forgotten realms therefore not allowed. go play azeroth al if you want to play them.
Go the **** away with your "dnd extended universe" bullshit!

Posted Nov 3, 2026So a subclass that was first printed in Xanathar's Guide to Everything and a species who has been printed multiple times in D&D history, along with some very generic subclasses and options are bullshit?

Posted Nov 3, 2026Feel free to use those. but not the wow print. thats a "azeroth universe" thing not forgotten realms. if someone doesnt like it, they dont have to sign up for the play where of course i will put it in the disclaimer that those options are banned.
so everyone can decide for themself to play or not to play.

Posted Nov 3, 2026So goblins from Mordenkainen are fine but the exact same goblins with the exact same characteristics from this book are not? You're just throwing a tantrum because Wizards of the Coast is not making a product tailored exclusively towards you

Posted Nov 4, 2026I mean AL also allows for Dragonlance, Eberron, Davenport and even Critical Role but I guess I'm being nitpicky. And I mean at the end of the day its not the biggest deal as its your games, just comes across as kinda unintentionally demeaning to folks who are or aren't into WoW but like new options or even a little "Fun Police" energy, just something to consider.
More importantly the options from the D&D discord are allowed, so its interesting if our Battlemaster on our team will take any of these options. Wished at least some of the spells made it, especially the ones not specifically WoW coded but that what home games are for.

Posted Nov 4, 2026Note specifically:
Eberron feats, bastions, and items are not available outside of Eberron, Critical Role is also it's own campaign which solely allows for CR and EGWildemount. Ravenloft (Davenport?) also is it's own campaign, with R:HW only allowing certain options out - frankly, more than I thought they should have allowed - whilst still containing the less FR elements (Dark Gifts, RHW bastion options) to RHW. Astarion's also published a handful of things which were reprinted in RHW, which is part of the reason it's more accessible for FR. Dragonlance, I've not got much info on, but is also it's own campaign, with it's own things going on.
This, however, is being allowed for all campaigns (barring CR, which has access to nearly no other content) and allows not just reprinted options (3 subclasses, 1 species) but other feats, maneuvers, and subclasses.
The only reason this has been allowed so openly for Greyhawk and AL is to drive sales of the book. The only reason Swashbuckler, Drunken Master / Mystic Brew, and Ancestral Guardian / Spiritual Guardian were included in the book is to drive sales of the book. Goblin, I believe, was caught in the crossfire alongside Human and Dwarf which I believe use the PHB'24 versions.

Posted Nov 4, 2026You know 5e Forgotten Realms is lame, right? It hasn't been cool since 1e. I bet 5e is the only edition you've played. I bet D&D is the only RPG you've played. LOL. L

Posted Nov 4, 2026Never do this again. If stuff is made for general D&D, don't put it in the crossover collaboration Fortnite book.
