I don’t disagree in regards to weapon uniqueness but the one handed staff thing?? Literally Gandalf in lord of the rings dual wielded a staff and a long sword
A quarterstaff is commonly wielded in one hand *at a time*. What we need is more monsters that care about weapon damage types.
I think the most awesome thing about them condensing rules, subclasses and spells from other books is we know in future we have fewer books to buy! Like, I could've saved $300 only buying Xanathar's and this, it's awesome!
Seriously if I were to build Gandalf as a 5e character he would be like a 19th lv fighter 1st lv Wizard
I wonder what will happen to all our currently created character sheets when this goes live. Do we toggle these new character creation rules? Will our racial bonuses revert to nothing for reassignment? Will it spazz out creating a riff in the spacetime continuum?

I doubt DDB will force optional rules on to existing characters, especially ones that have had a lot of pushback from a significant part of the community.
Going by how character sheets that use previous iterations of UA work when the UA is revised or published in a book, the sheet will stay the same using the archived UA version.
I predict that there will be a toggle for the new options like there are for Eberron, Ravnica, and Critical Role content, and extra choices at appropriate levels in the class tab (like how you select your subclass, ASI, etc.) if you choose to toggle it on.
Sounds neat
yes
I just got a E-Mail from Amazon saying there is a delay in the book's delivery, Dec 1st. Is this the same for digital release?
Thank you! Demogorgon_Prince_Of_Demons has some great ones as well.
I wonder if the rollout date for this release will end up being delayed at all? I usually order the hardcopy of the current release from Amazon.com, and I just received a notice this today that the new, estimated release date has been pushed back two weeks to Tuesday, December 1st.
Does anyone else also order a physical copy of the books in addition to purchasing them here on DDB?
Going off the ign previews that showed the contents page: Colleges of Eloquence and Creation for Bards, Paths of the Beast and Wild Magic for Barbarians, Order, Peace and Twilight domains for Clerics, Circles of Spores, Stars and Wildfire for Druids, Rune Knight and Psi Warrior for Fighter, Ways of Mercy and Astral Self for Monks, Oaths of Glory and Watchers for Paladins, Fey Wanderer and Swarmkeeper conclaves for Rangers, Phantom and Soulknife for Rogues, Aberrant Mind and Clockwork Soul for sorcerers, Fathomless and Genie patrons for Warlocks and finally the school of Bladesinging and Order of Scribes for Wizards. Oh and the Artificer gets a reprint (like some of those subclasses are), which includes its previous three subclasses plus the new Armourer.
I usually just get them hardcopy, but I am buying mine at a local bookstore, so I think that is a problem within amazon because of general shipping delays.
Time whoops not item
Yeah, I'm guessing it will not displace or corrupt existing character sheets. I had a warforged character before WGtE revised the Warforged inherent armor rules and subtypes. That character's sheet still has and retains the old mechanics and abilities, but is labeled (UA), which I suppose indicates that character's rules are now considered on the same level as Unearthed Arcana. But otherwise, the sheet didn't change.
