D&D Beyond is excited to announce the release of the all-new, consolidated D&D Beyond App! Gone are the days of two separate apps: we’ve combined the power of the D&D Beyond toolset with new mobile features to make your Dungeons & Dragons 5th-edition games more accessible and more fun. The app is available to download for free on iOS and Android.
The toolset makes it easier to reference D&D content, with features ranging from a guided character creation, dynamic character sheets and spell management, plus the ability to search and bookmark books in your library. The app is the perfect mobile solution for every D&D player — whether you’re a new player, a veteran campaigner, or legendary Dungeon Master.
Play with Advantage
Mobile character creation is easier with the character builder tool walking you through every step of the character creation process. You’ll never have to enter a game without your character sheet again — access your characters online or offline and be ready for skill checks, attack rolls, saving throws, or whatever twists your DM throws at you. Manage your character's health, abilities, spells, and inventory.
Forgot your dice? Roll directly in the app with themed digital dice sets!
Dungeon Masters will enjoy the ability to easily access monster stat blocks and game rules in the D&D Beyond App. Bookmark your favorite monsters or frequently used rules, search spells, and gaze longingly over your backlog of characters you'd love to play (some day, maybe...).
What if I already own the Player App or Reader App?
Adventurers who have the D&D Beyond Player App will simply need to update the app to access the new tools! If you are using the D&D Beyond Reader App, you'll need to migrate over to the new app.
I noticed there’s no mention of added Homebrew content? I love everything else with both apps (soon to be a singular all in one composite app). Any word on when we will be able to access Homebrew content on the app?
I’m really hoping Homebrew content is added. I can’t understand why that feature isn’t available already? In fact, I received from a staff member at D&D Beyond that homebrew content was only available through the online platform. Fingers crossed!
Nice.
good idea
OH MY DAYS FINALLY THANK YOU SO MUCH
Fantastic news! Will there be a version available for Kindles?
So just because I am stupid and it’s Not clear to me: will the data of a campaign carry over from the website to the app?
yes, that's good progress!
Poggers
Will the search capability be sorted? It's pretty dire just now.
I hope you've built in the effects of exhaustion. As it stands now, when I have one level of exhaustion I need to remember to roll with disadvantage for certain things. I hope you have fixed that.
I imagine this is within your abilities since you have made it so damage dice are automatically doubled when you roll a critical. So I don't think my request is not reasonable.
YES!
Cool! However, one “issue” with the Compendium app is that it does not access partial book purchases, like spells or magic items from Adventures (bought specifically). I can see that content via the website but not in the current app. Will the new combined app remedy this issue?
I doubt the app will ever automatically roll anything with advantage or disadvantage, because the app doesn't know if there are other conditions that would negate them. For example, you might have disadvantage from exhaustion, but also advantage from someone taking the Help action, which means you should roll just one d20.
Powers &8^]
I love you all for making the app offline ready! I was recently camping and couldn't access internet, it made me sad to not be able to read my D&D content.
I would love an iPad specific version. Reading on the iPad is soooo much better!
Finally! This is going to be so great!
When will we be able to connect the App with Discord like we do with the desktop web version?
Yes!!!
can you make a version for chrome book/ios
