Fire
A bright streak flashes from your pointing finger to a point you choose within range and then blossoms with a low roar into an explosion of flame. Each creature in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on that point must make a Dexterity saving throw. A target takes 8d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
The fire spreads around corners. It ignites flammable objects in the area that aren't being worn or carried.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 3rd.
* - (a tiny ball of bat guano and sulfur)
To help I role play making the save as getting around the ball of fire
I second that "Ooga Booga" and put in a "360 NOSCOPE"
If it can set the body on fire then yes
If you are in the area of affect then you do take damage if that's what you mean
KYLEP,
Unless otherwise specified, any saving throw prompted by a spell uses the caster's spell save DC (8 + proficiency bonus + spellcasting ability modifier).
I hope you found this useful!
Ravager926,
If you have concerns about the legitimacy of the dice rollers on this site, rest assured that your rolls are not unlikely. The more dice rolled, the higher the chance of the outcome being close to the average. Think of it as a probability bell curve.
I hope you found this useful!
I was very new to this whole thing when I posted this, thank you Magiknight. I have come to find the sight having reliable rolls for the purposes of campaigns and the like =)
i think its because bat guano has potassium nitrate which is explosive
Nah, the spell's components aren't used unless explicitly stated that it is used in the process.
Check: House rules. It also depends. Is the hair a toupee?
lmao dude, if you wanna beat the bbeg in literally one round, just cast this at 9th level. Either he'll disintegrate into a pile of ash, or he'll lose so much health that he's no longer a large threat. You could alternatively cast this at like 5th level for all your spell slots, get all their legendary resistances out of the way, and then 9th level, because screw you DM, thought you could have a fun encounter at the climax of the game? Nah fam, taste 9th level abraca-f*ck-you! Alternatively, you could just cheese everything else that isn't the bbeg, take out all his drones with a few 3rd level spell slots, if he has any. In other words, this spell is the go-to for screwing the dm and his plans sideways, and because of its utility and all encompassing damage dealing, it nearly can't be beat; not to mention that it levels incredibly well, because it starts out at low level already, so having 14d6 ready and able to be cast at end-game is amazing.
this is broken
I have used this before, it's pretty nice
This should be added to the Wildfire Druid spell list, since the subclass centers around dealing fire damage and this would help the class out in later levels.
One could argue that meteor storm is better but…
We played D&D and one of us is a sorcerer with fireball. Can it burn down an entire damn forest?
Can you lob a fireball, or does it have to go straight at the target? ie: lob a fireball over the wall of a fort to hit creatures on the other side.
So, if they've got a Net on them, Fireball won't destroy the Net, because it isn't slashing damage? Sweet!
Hey guys! They said the net should survive the magma from the volcano!
This should be interesting: please explain how massive uncontrolled explosions are useful in the controlled burning of wilderness to revitalize the land?
Mentions nothing about line of sight.
