You draw the moisture from every creature in a 30-foot cube centered on a point you choose within range. Each creature in that area must make a Constitution saving throw. Constructs and undead aren’t affected, and plants and water elementals make this saving throw with disadvantage. A creature takes 12d8 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Nonmagical plants in the area that aren’t creatures, such as trees and shrubs, wither and die instantly.

Posted May 3, 2024That would be in the Basic Rules and PHB in the spellcasting section. They stand for Verbal, Somatic, and Material.

Posted Nov 12, 2025I don't understand why any one would take this spell. Circle of death does the exact same thing with same damage, except having a much larger area of effect (30ft cube vs. a sphere 120ft diameter). For size comparison, horrid wilting covers 27 thousand cube feet while circle of death covers 905 thousand cube feet. Circle of death is more than 33 times larger. For a decent, fairly accurate size comparison, put a regular D6 next to an orange. Who in their right mind would not pick the orange?
Ofcourse, picking circle of death doesn't give plants and water elementals disadvantage, but on the other hand, circle of death will affect constructs and undead which horrid wilting does not. All of which is irrelevant anyway.
I don't see it.
