Posted Jun 10, 2025The real issue would be using this with pact magic. Just take 3 levels in Cleric and you get to cast this with a pact magic slot which would then regenerate. It would basically make short rests 10 minutes + give 1d8 hitpoints per warlock spell level (so 5d8 at warlock level 9).

Posted Nov 10, 2025You get the normal benefits of a short rest in addition to the 2d8 healing, so if the 2d8 heal doesn't top you off you can spend hit dice.

Posted Mar 25, 2026This would be a great spell for a lockadin to prepare once they hit Paladin 5… assuming that you don’t multiclass out of Paladin until lv.5 for Extra Attack (or lv.6 given it’s a common break point for paladins), you can get a 10-minute spell slot regen + hit dice + 2d8 at lv.8/9, and this is even better if you use a Warlock slot for this, no spell slot cost. Even if it’s only once a day, you still get tons of value from this spell. You can also reproduce a quick short rest if you play a Genie warlock, since they and their party can finish a short rest in 10 minutes in their lamp at Warlock 10 (and also add the warlock’s PB to regained HP!).

Posted Jun 1, 2026If that seems like a long time, keep in mind it gives you all the benefits of a Short Rest, which normally takes 60 minutes.
And, as noted above, a Cleric of at least level 10 can cast it as an action via their "Divine Intervention" feature once a day.

Posted Jul 23, 2026How does Prayer of Healing (2024) interacts with Musician's Origin Feat "Encouraging Song" and Chef's Feat "Replenishing Meal"?
"Encouraging Song. As you finish a Short or Long Rest, you can play a song on a Musical Instrument with which you have proficiency and give Heroic Inspiration to allies who hear the song. The number of allies you can affect in this way equals your Proficiency Bonus."
"Replenishing Meal. As part of a Short Rest, you can cook special food if you have ingredients and Cook's Utensils on hand. You can prepare enough of this food for a number of creatures equal to 4 plus your Proficiency Bonus. At the end of the Short Rest, any creature who eats the food and spends one or more Hit Dice to regain Hit Points regains an extra 1d8 Hit Points."
If the characters with the Feats sing a song and share a quick sandwich in those 10 min, is that enough to gain the full benefit of the Short Rest?
I'm inclined to think that it is. Doesn't seem that OP when it's just once per day and, in theory, Short Rests are free to be taken at any time.
I see Prayer of Healing as a spell you keep prepared in case you want to take a Short Rest but probably would not be able to due to having little time.

Posted Jul 27, 2026I would certainly allow it, though I think it would also be reasonable for a DM to rule that "all the benefits of a Short Rest" only refers to the benefits actually described in the definition of a Short Rest, and that things like Encouraging Song require you to actually take a full Short Rest rather than just simulate one.
