Choose a willing creature that you can see within range. Until the spell ends, the target’s Speed is doubled, it gains a +2 bonus to Armor Class, it has Advantage on Dexterity saving throws, and it gains an additional action on each of its turns. That action can be used to take only the Attack (one attack only), Dash, Disengage, Hide, or Utilize action.
When the spell ends, the target is Incapacitated and has a Speed of 0 until the end of its next turn, as a wave of lethargy washes over it.

Posted Feb 28, 2026Im sorry to hear that, but one of my favorite parts about dnd, and specifically wizards approach to 5e is that its less of strict rules that they release, but more of guidelines.
so let your dm know, or tell your group that your gonna swap that rule out for the old one, 5e is meant to be easy to mod/ house rule

Posted Apr 2, 2026Totally valid to challenge it. I don't think I myself would allow a Hasted cantrip for those subclasses 💀💀
I was hoping my "☝️🤓" comment would spark insightful/argumentative replies, since I really don't know if it works RAW. I'm assuming they only changed the wording so that Unarmed Strikes remained usable with Haste

Posted Apr 15, 2026This spell isn't strong enough to warrant a penalty... maybe if you cast it on a Rogue for double sneak attack, but on almost any other class it just isn't. Not nearly as strong as Hypnotic Pattern, Fear or Spirit Guardians. Probably not as good as Conjure Animals.

Posted Apr 21, 2026If a Rogue has Haste on them they can attack and sneak attack with their regular action. Ready the second action, with the trigger being the end of their *turn* and then burn their reaction to double sneak attack.
This is completely RAW, RAI and used quite a bit.

Posted Apr 27, 2026I mean sure… I guess a DM could do whatever they want, but on what grounds outside your prerogative? Ready an action is a thing, Sneak Attack is clearly 1 per turn… we know from the UA process they know about this strategy. Why would you rule against it?

Posted Apr 27, 2026I guess I really disagree on this being a bad faith interpretation or really this being hyper optimization

Posted Aug 2, 2026I'm with you on this one. "When my turn ends" is a Meta trigger, and I would call shenanigans on that. You need to give me an actual in-universe trigger, just like any other held action requires. Of course, I usually require held actions to have 'positive' triggers to react to, which they occur after. You have to see something happen that you are reacting to with your held action. You can't hold an action to go off before something else happens, only after.
