Your spell bolsters your allies with toughness and resolve. Choose up to three creatures within range. Each target's hit point maximum and current hit points increase by 5 for the duration.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, a target's hit points increase by an additional 5 for each slot level above 2nd.

I love this spell, one of the other reasons it's so powerful, but it is a niche case, is that it doesn't require line of sight. Had a game where Aid turned a TPK into us only losing 1 PC.
No - if a spell applies a condition to its targets, it will explicitly say that it does that. This one doesn't say that.
"Tough" isn't a condition in D&D in any case.
Keep in mind that this does not add temporary hit points, so it can stack with things like Armor of Agathys, which is really powerful.
Are there any items (magical or non-magical) that have a similiar effect by temporarily increasing a character's max hp?
I'm using a non-magic healer and I would love to add this effect to his abilities somehow. I was going to multi-class with Artificer but they progress so slowly in spellcasting compared to normal spellcasters it just seemed like a waste.
What would have if aid was cast on a lvl 10 school of necromancy wizard. Just curious since "Inured to death" states its maximum hp can't be reduced.
I don't think the intent of that feature is that all temporary max hit point increases are actually permanent, if that's what you're asking.
For anyone having issues with the spell not showing up for bards or other classes this was added to after PHB you need to have "optional class features" enabled for both your character and the campaign if you're in one. Thank goodness my DM is smarter than I am, I was quite frustrated until they got it sorted. Cheers.
