You cause a creature or an object you can see within range to grow larger or smaller for the duration. Choose either a creature or an object that is neither worn nor carried. If the target is unwilling, it can make a Constitution saving throw. On a success, the spell has no effect.
If the target is a creature, everything it is wearing and carrying changes size with it. Any item dropped by an affected creature returns to normal size at once.
Enlarge. The target's size doubles in all dimensions, and its weight is multiplied by eight. This growth increases its size by one category-- from Medium to Large, for example. If there isn't enough room for the target to double its size, the creature or object attains the maximum possible size in the space available. Until the spell ends, the target also has advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws. The target's weapons also grow to match its new size. While these weapons are enlarged, the target's attacks with them deal 1d4 extra damage.
Reduce. The target's size is halved in all dimensions, and its weight is reduced to one-eighth of normal. This reduction decreases its size by one category--from Medium to Small, for example. Until the spell ends, the target also has disadvantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws. The target's weapons also shrink to match its new size. While these weapons are reduced, the target's attacks with them deal 1d4 less damage (this can't reduce the damage below 1).

BECOME GIANT
Yo what about dire troll
speaking of rune knights if you reduce a rune knight can you use his own ability to become big again?
What is the smallest a PC could be, without Polymorphing in any way?
I am thinking a 2ft Kobold, Reduced to 1ft tall?
Rune knight's upgraded giant might can make them huge. Having a friendly spellcaster cast enlarge on them could make them gargantuan so that's pretty epic.
I'd rule that Enlarge/Reduce would overrule the effect of the Giant's Might for the duration of E/R as personal preference.
You could rule it as a contested check between the caster and the rune knight though (spellcasting ability vs constitution check), or a spellcasting ability check vs the rune knight's DC (8 + CON + Prof). It's worth noting that the size increase isn't necessary for the extra damage that Giant's Might gives them so you'd have an ankle biter who's able to hit super hard.
This can now be cast by Druids per TCoE, along with a few other spells that need to be updated.
Ask yourself this question: WWRMD (What would Rick Moranis do?)?
When will I be able to add this to my Druid? :)
What happens if you enlarge a create that can swallow another creature? Can it now swallow larger creatures?
so with the new rune knight and playing a deep dwarf this is now possible. Im playing it rn and am in love.
Please help. My Tortle became a 3,600lb large creature and my companion started dropping me 30ft on the DMs creatures. Did we break it? Is nothing safe now? How much damage should that be?!

Uhh add 1d4 bludgeoning damage. The enemy is now encumbered.
Simple. For your gnome to be the Lorax
is it saying that the object has to be less than 30ft in area or is it saying it has to be within 30 feet of your character?
Isn't this one on the bards spell list since Tasha's? Does anyone know when this will be included in the list on DnD beyond?
The Tasha's stuff is an Optional Class Feature you have to select during character creation (and you can't get that without buying the e-book).
