Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

The Oath of Yarns calls to paladins who keep history and seek new tales to tell. They swear to record all that they encounter, recover lost history, and make a tale worth telling. Those who swear this oath can follow either Lawful or Chaotic gods since a good story could be found anywhere. The real stories are not just found in a library, experience it for yourself first hand!

Tenets of The Yarn

History. Those ignorant of the past are doomed to repeat it, never forget the past.

Future. Every story has a beginning, be sure to record your own story.

Entertainment. Learn what you want while you still can.

Experience. Books are needed, but true storytellers go out into the world.

Channel Divinity

Saga Sight. As a bonus action you can channel divinity to see the story that has been and will be. For 30 seconds every attack against you or an ally within 10 feet is at disadvantage, and every attack you make against an enemy within 10 feet is at advantage. This effect will cease after 30 seconds, when you end it or are incapcitated.

Yarn Spinner. You can use your Channel Divinity to captivate the minds and bodies of your foe. As an action, you can cause a spectral string of yarn to reach for a creature within 10 feet of you that you can see. The creature must succeed on an Intelligence Saving Throw or be restrained. While restrained, the creature repeats the saving throw at the end of each of its turns. On a success, it frees itself and the yarn vanishes.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed in the Oath of Yarns Spells table. See the Sacred Oath class feature for how oath spells work.

Aura of Lore

Beginning at 7th level, stories of old seep off you and form an aura of inspiration. You and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you have advantage on all spell saving throws. At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Revision of Fate

You can rewrite a story before it even happens. When you or another creature you can see within 10 feet of you is targeted by a spell, you can use your reaction to change the target of the spell to a creature of your choice within the spell’s range(you cannot choose the creature casting the spell). You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Legend Weaver

At 20th level, you can assume the form of Living Legend, your skin turns the color of aged parchment or leather book covers, your eyes burn like blazing bonfires, and spectral yarn weaves around you. None can take their eyes off of you or lend their ears anywhere else. Using your action, you undergo a transformation. For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:

At the start of each of your turns, you regain 10 hit points.
Whenever you hit with an attack, a spectral string of yarn will lash out at an enemy you see within 30 feet and do force damage equal to the attack’s.
Enemy creatures within 30 feet of you have disadvantage on attack rolls against any ally other than you.

Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
