Artificer
Base Class: Artificer

Artificers who branch into the culinary arts are masters at cooking up lively servings of food seasoned with magical effects. Spicy curry could make you blast fire, while a sugary dessert could speed you up!

Tool Proficiency

When you adopt this specialization at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Cook's Utensils. If you already have this proficiency, you gain proficiency with one other type of artisan's tools of your choice

Chef Spells

Starting at 3rd level, you always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Chef Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don't count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Chef Spells Artificer Level Spell

3rd burning hands, create or destroy water

5th heat metal, locate animals or plants

9th wall of water, plant growth

13th watery sphere, control water

17th flame strike, immolation

Food Infusion

Beginning at 3rd level, whenever you finish a long rest, you can infuse a single dish you create with a magical effect listed below. A number of creatures equal to your proficiency bonus can use an action to ingest some of the food or administer it to an incapacitated creature and gain the effect. Infusing food requires you to have cook's utensils on your person, with the effects lasting until the end of your next long rest. When you reach certain levels in this class, the effects of your food become more potent. Double every number on the effects below at 6th level, and triple them at 15th.

Spicy: A creature who eats part of this food can deal 1 additional fire damage with a weapon or spell attack once on each of their turns.

Home-style. A creature who eats part of this food gains 1 temporary hitpoint at the end of each of their turns that they don't deal damage on.

Hearty. A creature who eats part of this food regains 2 additional hitpoints whenever they receive magical healing.

Sweet. A creature who eats part of this food has their speed increase by 5ft.

Fluffy. A creature who eats part of this food gains a 5ft hover speed.

Cooking Flame

At 5th level, your spells have been re-tuned with cooking in mind, providing the following effects:

  • Whenever a creature drops to 0 hitpoints as a result of any fire damage you deal with spells or artificer abilities, you can evenly cook their entire body instantly.
  • After casting a fire spell, or any spell that creates water, you can deal 1d6 + your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1) fire damage to a single creature damaged by the spell or in contact with any water it created

Meal To Go

Starting at 9th level, the food you serve up during breaks empowers you and your allies. The first time a creature tastes any food created by you during a short rest, they can add an additional 2d4 to their next attack roll or ability check made before their next short or long rest.

Master Chef

By 15th level, you can conjure a grand feast with just a few words and the flick of a wrist. You can cast the Heroes' Feast spell instantaneously without expending a spell slot, without preparing the spell, and without material components, provided you use Cook's Utensils as the spellcasting focus. Once you cast the spell with this feature, you can't cast it again until you finish a long rest.
