Druid
Base Class: Druid

One way of controlling these powers is through the use of Nature Totems. These are physical objects, which resemble beasts, through which Druids can channel their Wild Shape and other abilities.

Nature Totem Wild Shape

When you choose this circle at 2nd level, you begin to craft your own Nature Totems. Choose 6 beasts that meet the current Wild Shape restrictions of your level, you craft a totem for each of these.

In addition, you gain more totems as you gain more levels in this class. Each time you gain totems in this way the beasts you choose must fall under the Wild Shape restrictions that apply at that level.

Level Nature Totems gained
4th 2
6th 2
8th 2
10th 2
14th 4
20th 6

You gain the ability Wild Shape through your Nature Totem with your bonus action. Alternatively you can use your bonus action and consume 30ft of movement to throw and transform into the totem at the same time

Totem Forms

The natural power running through you allows you to channel potent magics into your totems. Starting at 2nd level, you can craft Nature Totems to transform into a beast with a challenge rating as high as 1 (you ignore the Max. CR column of the Beast Shapes table, but must abide by the other limitations there).

Additionally, while you are transformed by Wild Shape, your original form can be healed through the doll left behind by it. This alters the Hit Points you return to when you transform back.

Gift of the Totems

By 3th level, your repeated use of your Nature Totems has instilled them all with some of their own magic. When you go below 0 HP and fall unconscious the totems awaken and begin to animate. A number of totems equal to your proficiency bonus awaken each turn starting with the one most used by you and so on.

These animated totems do not grow to full size and gain only 10ft of movement. They then use their movement at the start of your turn to move towards you and try to help you with their action.

With the help of each one you gain a +1 to each of the death saving throws you make.

Innate Beast Potential

The inate bestial power within you can be used to grant transformations into more dangerous animal forms. Starting at 6th level, you can channel your abilities to attempt to transform into a beast with a challenge rating higher than 1. You must still have a Nature totem of the beast to attempt to transform

Roll a Wild Shape check 1d20+Wisdom. The DC of this check is 10 + (CR of the beast) * 2

On a successful roll you transform into the desired beast. On a failure you transform into a random beast (DM's choice) instead.

Also, starting at 6th level, your attacks in beast form count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.

Beastial Focus

At 10th level, you can expend two uses of Wild Shape at the same time to focus your Innate Beast Potential. When you do this you can decrease the DC required for your Inate Beast Potential.

In this case the DC becomes 10 + (CR of the beast) but the same failure conditions apply

Controlled Chaos

From level 14 you gain more control over your inner potential. Once per long rest, when you use the Inate Beast Potential feaure (including Beastial Focus) you can choose to take 10 on the d20 roll, eliminating the risk of wasting a Wild Shape and not transforming.

You must choose to do this before you roll.
