Base Class: Monk
You are one with the storm, you always have been, and early in your life somebody saw that in you, they took you in, and the disciplined and trained you, or maybe you felt the connection already and decided to seek out one of the reclusive monasteries. You read the clouds and storm the way you read people ki flows like electricity through the mortal machine. The way of the raging storm focuses on the power that lies within energy itself, deadly efficiency, and most importantly... speed.
Static mind
Starting when you choose this tradition at 3rd level
- you can cast the Shatter spell at the cost of 1 Ki point, using wisdom as your spellcasting modifier.
- you gain access to the thaumaturgy cantrip and can cast it at will.
- You can add your Wis modifier to Cha (Intimidation checks)
Galvanized Body
You learn to charge your body and build up charge as you attack. For every successful consecutive attack you add 1 stack of charge, your charge cap is equal to your proficiency bonus, you can expend a stack of charge to deal bonus lightning damage equal to one roll of your martial arts die per stack. Additionally while running you gain one stack of charge for every 20 ft you travel in a straight line.
When you miss an attack or move 0 ft on your turn you lose all of your currently held stacks of charge.
While you are charged you gain resistance to Lightning and thunder damage.
Electric Soul
Now at 6th Level you gain two new ways to use your charge,
Static Discharge when you would lose all stacks of charge you can instead release them in a 10 ft radius Ball Lightning.
Step of the Storm you can spend all of your stacks of charge as a bonus action to teleport yourself to an unoccupied space you can see within range (60 ft) . Immediately as you appear, a thunderous boom sounds, and each creature within 10 feet of the space you appear in must make a Constitution saving throw, taking lightning damage equal to your charge output on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The thunder can be heard from up to 300 feet away.
You also gain access to the Knock Spell, and can cast it at the cost of two Ki points
Mantle of Storm
At 11th Level now, you bear a presence both calming and destructive
- your unarmed strikes are now considered Seige weapons
- You gain tremorsense out to 30 ft
- You are also now immune to thunder and lightning damage.
Stormdancer
At 17th level ayou gain access to the Chain Lightning Spell and can cast it once for free per long rest, you can upcast it to 7th, 8th, or 9th level at the cost of 1 Ki point per level.
Additionally, now you can enter your Stormdance as a bonus action lasting 1 minute. During your Stormdance
- You cannot drop below half of your charge maxiumum
- Your movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks and you may count any of your movement as teleportation as you merge with lightning
- you ignore difficult terrain and your movement speed increases by 10 ft.
