Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards that study this college gain some of the most powerful illusory spells known in the multiverse, admittedly through questionable means. Their studies consist of understanding a creature's brain and how to manipulate it to create images only the affected creatures can see, and making said images appear as real as possible. These bards tend to roam unnoticed through the world, making seemingly normal livings by performing and casting illusions to enhance their performances to pure spectacle. However, to gain these powers they have had to study and embrace beings that allow for the manipulation of one's mind; such as the nothics and dark mages that have brought havoc to this world. Due to this, illusion bards tend to be morally grey or have evil alignments.

Illusory proficiency

Through your studies, you have repeatedly learned and used basic illusory spells to excel in your studies. As such, you are able to cast these spells at will from memory without the need to expend a spell slot

Indistinguishable illusion

You have reached a peak in your capabilities as a professional illusionist. It is now near impossible for those who are subject to your trickery to distinguish illusion from reality. As such, creatures must roll their investigation checks with disadvantage when under influence of your illusions.

Memory extraction

Due to your ominous studies of the magic behind nothics, you can play a rhythm that allows you to extract a deep thought or memory from a creature if it fails a contested intelligence save against your insight check. You can do what you wish with this knowledge, whether that be using it in your illusions or to pass on to those who request that knowledge.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of Illusions at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with three skills of your choice (ideally deception, perception and investigation).

Block senses

At 3rd level, you have learned how to modify a creature's basic senses to block one out for a brief period of time. Once per short or long rest, you can expend a charge of bardic inspiration to block either sight, smell, hearing, taste or touch for 2 minutes. This will cause a creature to roll with disadvantage on relevant checks within the time period.

Environment manipulation

You can project an environment with description of your choice in a 30ft cube centred wherever you place it within a 100ft radius. Creatures within can make an investigation check against your spell save DC to discern the illusion.
